Why is ADPi a diamond?
Stars were not included on this first badge, but it did have a monogram of the Wesleyan pin attached to the badge by a link chain, thus forming a guard. The Diamond symbolizes the strength and value of friendships. The diamond represents purity, and the four points represent the symmetry of a balanced life.

On these ribbons, the women had placed the clasped hands of friendship and their carefully chosen motto, “We Live for Each Other.” And, boom (boom), the first symbols of the society were born! It was only one year later, in 1852, when the Adelpheans decided to change the ribbon to a diamond shaped badge.
